Description
This microscope is an American Optical model 120 with 10X wide field eyepieces and four objective lenses. It is a very rugged unit with an all metal frame. The 4 objective lenses are 4X (unbranded), 10X (Bausch & Lomb), 43X (Bausch & Lomb), and 97X oil (Bausch & Lomb). This provides a wide magnification range of 40X-970X. The objective lenses are mounted on a 5 position turret for easy selection. Note that there is one empty turret position. The 120V illumination lamp is 100 watt with an adjustable aperture and condensing lens height adjustment. The illumination lamp intensity is also adjustable with the knob on the front of the lamp power supply. The power supply is included. The X-Y graduated stage has clamps to hold a slide securely and is moveable to easily scan across a sample. The illumination lamp has a pocket to hold filters but no filters are included. The eyepiece has a built in pointer to highlight features on a sample. The last four photos, the honey bee tongue (40X), the bug claw (100X),the human hair (430X), and the plant leaf (970X) were taken through the eyepiece of this microscope with a cell phone camera.
